NEWS RELEASE
HILLCREST HEALTHCARE HONORS MOTHERS OF ALL AGES Some special residents of Hillcrest HealthCare in Knox County got the attention they deserve recently as staff and volunteers celebrated Mother’s Day. The Hillcrest-Beverly Foundation honored mothers with special receptions for residents at three Hillcrest facilities. Several generations of family members gathered at each location. “It was so great to see folks of different ages interacting with each other,” said Carolyn Jensen, director of the Hillcrest-Beverly Foundation. “The young children who attended especially were fascinated by all the activities.” Each mom got a special gift bag with candy and flowers prepared by Hillcrest volunteers. Some of the residents told stories about their mothers as they grew up. Others shared poetry. Former Knox County commissioner Mary Lou Horner made the rounds to lead the crowd in singing some favorite songs. Organizers say they plan similar events for Father’s Day next month. Hillcrest HealthCare Community is a community-based, not-for-profit organization offering a variety of healthcare services in four convenient locations throughout Knoxville. Hillcrest is the largest skilled and long-term care system in Knoxville that provides high-quality, affordable healthcare options for inpatient and outpatient needs. Hillcrest’s continuum of care includes an assisted living facility, a hospice center, memory loss unit, short-term orthopedic rehabilitation center, a unique behavioral center tailored just for women, and the area’s only respiratory center that provides ventilator weaning and pulmonary rehabilitation services. ### |
