FORMER FRIST AIDE NAMED DIRECTOR
OF HILLCREST-BEVERLY FOUNDATION

Carolyn Carter Jensen is bringing her years of political service and community contacts back to the nonprofit arena as the new director of the Hillcrest-Beverly Foundation.

The Foundation is the philanthropic agency for Hillcrest HealthCare, a senior care organization with four facilities in Knox County.

Jensen most recently served as senior field representative for U.S. Sen. Bill Frist until the former Senate majority leader from Tennessee retired last year.

“I look forward to this new opportunity to continue serving the people of the Knox County area,” she said. “We have some very new and innovative approaches to health care on the horizon, and I’m proud to be taking on the Foundation’s mission of improving the lives of seniors.”

Among her duties, Jensen will be heavily involved in fundraising, including the upcoming Marquee 2007 event on March 11 at the Tennessee Theatre. The afternoon will include an auction and screening of the film “Pillow Talk.” Proceeds will benefit the Foundation’s Jump on the Bed Campaign, which is raising funds to buy state-of-the-art beds for every Hillcrest resident.

“The addition of Carolyn brings a wonderful new energy to our efforts, and we are happy to have her,” said Martha Weaver, board chair of the Hillcrest-Beverly Foundation.

Jensen has considerable nonprofit experience. She was executive director of YWCA Knoxville for 18 years before joining Senator Frist’s office.

Jensen is a graduate of Carson-Newman College, where she has been honored as an outstanding alumnus. She’s also on the college’s Board of Trustees. Her other civic involvement includes Leadership Knoxville and Executive Women’s Association.
