If you’ve ever appreciated a good night’s rest on a newmattress,
you’ll understand the Hillcrest-Beverly Foundation’s Jump On The Bed Campaign.
For residents in long-term care, a bed is much more than a place to get a good night’s sleep. A bed is where residents spend much of their time – watching TV, reading, resting, and even entertaining guests. The comfort of their beds directly affects their quality of life. The older beds currently in use at Hillcrest are non-electric and require nursing staff to raise or lower the bed whenever a resident wishes to sit up or lie down. This decreases resident independence and freedom. It’s time for a change!
To provide improved comfort, safety and therapeutic benefits, Hillcrest HealthCare plansto replace all 580 beds with new Hill-Rom medical beds for residents over the next three years. These new beds will:
• Protect fragile skin with automatic contour features
• Enable residents to personalize their bed settings for comfort using separate controls for the head and knees
• Enhance independence and enable residents to adjust their own beds for comfort with easy-to-use electric controls
Unfortunately, these new beds are very expensive, and without the help of donors, purchasing the beds will take a long time under current funding. That’s why The Jump On The Bed Campaign needs your help!
You can Jump On The Bed!
Help Hillcrest HealthCare to provide new medical beds for residents by jumping in with a donation of ANY size. Just one of these beds costs over $4,000, but every penny helps!
Please make checks payable to: Hillcrest-Beverly Foundation. For more information, contact the Foundation at (865) 246-4013. Donations are tax-deductible, and 100 percent of donations go to the Jump On The Bed Campaign.
